  2. As best as I can tell, Redbrush park closed. http://www.jacksoncountyhistory.org/items/show/531
  3. Last week
  4. I have been wondering if red brush was still open. I went as a kid. Was some of the best times i had was riding the ski lift over lake, setting up tent, fishing, swimming. Riding bumper cars and skating at night. The petting zoo, frisbi golf. The food arcades, paddle boats. The sand the slide on beach. The cloggers. The mirror that made you look funny. I would give anything to go back with my boys take them fishing. Id like them to experience Jumping off diving board, the swing. The kids area that was in the water. The best summer memories of my childhood. If anyone knows any info on redbrush please let me know

  6. I remember this, Mr. Roberts. Horribly sad. I heard that park is not open this year at all and the owners are in some kind of other difficulties.
  7. The guys who own and built the Schlitterbahn water parks are the brains behind many slides in use at various water parks to this day. I believe even certain ones at Kings Island (I'm fairly certain my fave, the giant funnel looking one, is one of their creations), are their creations. There was a reality show following them as they were attempting to build the tallest raft drop. The show ended before they ever got it to work. Allegedly they ended up opening it without ever perfecting its problems and the then Kansas State Representative, Scott Schwab's, 16 year old son got decapitated on the ride.

  9. No, i did not get banned on here. Thanks for the poster that texted me. This is a great site!
  10. That sounds like a lot of fun, Mr. Roberts. No wonder you have such a variety.
  11. I used to co-host a music program on W.A.I.F. radio so I collected a lot of music to play during that program. W.A.I.F. is a none profit, public radio station in Cincinnati where everyone volunteers and DJs bring their own music.
  12. You definitely have an unusual collection, Mr. Roberts. I still think that song is funny.
  13. Not at all. I have the Disco Duck album on CD-R.
  14. Funny, Mr. Roberts. With a disco, disco duck? Or are you too young to remember that?
  15. Guess eventually they'll have to announce it, Mr. Roberts.
  16. I was thinking maybe a 4-D theater, but I was under the impression that they still had at least 1 of the two theaters in the Motion Theater building (The other theater being used for Urgent Scare). But even if nothing works in there anymore (assuming the theater guts are still in there), just the shape of the the auditorium would make it ideal for refitting for a new show... unless the size of the auditorium is just not big enough for what they want to do. Plus it is so far back behind Windseeker, people might not want to walk that far for a 4-D movie. But all I can do is speculate. Tomb Raider doesn't seem like it would have enough floor space for a dark ride, sooo...
  17. Well, this is interesting, Mr. Roberts. The lasers I could see laser tag? But bubbles? For children, maybe?
  18. So construction is going on inside the old Tomb Raider building. Whether it is going to be a ride or some kind of new show in unknown. The only hint that we have is that it is going to utilize lasers and bubbles.
  19. Didn't think about that but you're right, Mr. Roberts. For some reason, Polaris reminds me instantly of the kids' movie, The Polar Express, with Tom Hanks. I watched part of that when it was on tv but it seemed quite odd; guess I'm just too old. If it's going to be a giga, Orion seems appropriately spacey.
  20. I think Orion goes along better with the theming in that area with Flight Of Fear.
  21. I saw something about that a week or so ago, Mr. Roberts. Don't recall where as I scan so many news sites. I like both names, but maybe Orion a bit better.
  22. So, last week Kings Island applied for Federal Trademarks of two names, Orion and Polaris. So one of these could be the name of the new attraction that is replacing Firehawk. There is also alleged leaked blue prints that were filed to the city of mason, but it only shows footers, foundation and steel needed to frame the base of the ride. Original Kings co-founder, Dennis Speigel, has looked over the blue prints and said, "This is (going to be) a Giga Coaster." So if this turns out to be true, it will be Kings Island's answer to Millennium Force. Allegedly, the new coaster will be 355 feet tall and reach speeds up to 93 miles per hour. You can read Cincinnati's channel 9 story here. https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/kings-island-files-blueprints-for-new-coaster
  23. If you get a chance, do check out Holiday World, though the terrain is not kind. It is such a pretty park and the drive down, once you get past Louisville, is very scenic. Again, awful heat when we were there, 114 degrees heat index. We spent two days at a hotel in a little town and took our time because those hills. It just seems well run and Santa Claus the town is fun to explore. Also the Abbey and a nunnery, not sure what it is called, but incredible architecture and so old. We had fun despite the heat. At that time drinks were free, all you wanted. That helped. Good food too. But that was about 15 years ago as I recall.
  24. I have only been to... Kings Island Cedar Point Michigan Adventures Dollywood Camden Park Universal Islands of Adventure MGM Disney Hollywood Studios The Magic Kingdom... And LeSourdsville Lake/ Americana, Cypress Gardens and Fantasy Farm back in the day. I'd like to go to more while I am still able.
