Walking in a spring wonderland? April snow day at Kings Island

Kyle Kruthoffer April 21, 2021

We’re now just 17 days away from Gold and Platinum Passholder Preview Weekend, and today snow was falling at Kings Island. While there wasn’t enough snow to go sled riding or ice-skating, the park was covered just enough to provide a beautiful, crystalized blanket.

World-class attractions such as Banshee, Diamondback, and “Snow”-rion were shining as the sun would peek through and bounce reflections off of them. The Racer, the park’s dueling wooden roller coaster, especially stood out with it’s bright white layers beaming in Coney Mall. Mystic Timbers was another amazing sight to behold, and with the icicles and snow dripping from the rusted equipment, it simply adds to the vibe that the Miami River Lumber Company gives off.

I almost thought about making snow angels in the wave pool at Soak City Water Park, but alas, there was still not enough snow. Even though the weather tells a different story, spring is here, with Kings Island and Soak City Water Park welcoming back park guests very soon.

Kings Island will officially open its gates to the general public on Saturday, May 15. Soak City Water Park will open on Saturday, May 29 (Memorial Day Weekend).

A Gold and Platinum season passholder preview will happen the weekend prior May 8-9, so now is the time to buy a 2021 Gold Season Pass. You don’t miss out on all the fun we have in store for you this year!
