Mystic Motel suing for Mystic Timbers name.

Recommended Posts

The owner of a backyard Halloween haunt is suing Kings Island for trademark infringement. He says the name Mystic Timbers might cause confusion over his haunt that is called Mystic Hotel.  He claims that this could cause even more problems down the road with his amusement park he hopes to open someday. He is also suing Silver Dollar City over their new ride named Mystic River Falls. He has various other suits pending that use the word Mystic as well. He is also suing a bunch of people for using the word "Holywood" as well. I'm not sure what the connection he has with the word Hollywood.

Jeez. Some people will do anything to get money, Mr. Roberts. Hopefully the court will throw this out as a frivolous lawsuit.  What's next, Mystic Pizza? There have to be thousands, millions of uses of just that one word. People are nuts.

D’Avanzo, who called his his hand built Dark ride in his garage Mystic Motel had filed a lawsuit against Kings Island for calling their coaster Mystic Timbers. I am not sure what became of that but Lawyers for Kings Island amusement park told D’Avanzo’s attorney that they considered the matter closed.  Scott D’Avanzo was at it again by going after Silver Dollar City for their new water ride opening this year called Mystic River Falls. The surprise is that Silver Dollar City fired back at D’Avanzo with a 16-page lawsuit that accused D’Avanzo and Adrenalin Attractions of trademark infringement, unfair competition and an implied legal threat.

YOU CAN READ THE WHOLE STORY HERE... once you close that annoying full page pop up ad.

As previously stated, Mr. Roberts, people are nuts. Pretty sure the word "mystic" can't be copyrighted or trademarked. Grifters gonna grift.

In both articles, he says he is planing on building his own amusement park with Mystic in its name, with his haunted house as the center piece. He is probably just trying to get other companies to pay for it with laws suit monies.
