WindSeeker Construction

Recommended Posts

Not just you. Any time a tree is destroyed, it's sad. We need a lot more to beautify the earth and clean and cool the air. Hope they will replant as many as possible. Seems a lot of the flowers have also disappeared the past couple of years. The park could use some more benches also - there aren't nearly enough and they are very uncomfortable. Hate seeing kids sitting on the pavement. Yuck.

I thought the exact same thing. Would it be so hard to just remove the trees and transplant them elsewhere in the park? These particular trees by Vortex were still rather young.

My two visits this year were great but it seems KI is getting more open, i.e. Action Zone open, and that is not how KI should be.

^ As much as I sincerely loved Paramount (especially over Cedar Fair), I don't think tree removal is exactly their trademark. (If anything, Cedar Fair's trademark would more likely be trim brakes and Intamins with bad downtime.) Paramount was just as guilty, if not more, of widespread tree removal. See Italian Job: Stunt Track and Tomb Raider: The Ride...

True, they ALL remove too many trees. If they would just replace them.....all that asphalt draws so much heat and with fewer trees to cool things off, the park seems to get hotter and more uncomfortable every summer. Be nice if all the asphalt could be replaced with a nice light composite material that wouldn't hold heat. Hey, I can dream...

^Okay, this shows that the actual ride will be farther back than I had originally thought. The actual Flight Commander spot still would have been a better location since it is relatively the deadest spot in Coney Mall (if you also include the closed up refreshment stand that sits next to the FC site).

The next question is will CF decide to close and remove Action Theater? Based on the photo above it seems that it will practially be at the entrance to the attraction.

do you think they will be having a winter construction tour? i am just curious. i almost got to go to the Diamondback winter construction tour but it was canceled due to ice and snow. it would be cool to see this thing being built..or at least some of it...and the changes occurring in the coney mall area.
