Villain's train spotted at KI

Recommended Posts

I know this is random, but that second pic is one of my all time favortie pics!

Back on track, Myself, I could see those trains going on the Racer. Do I think its a good decision? Yes and no. Yes because the Racer has gotten terribly rough over the years (of course, that might not be the trains fault, but I do think it would help). No because the Racer is a classic at the park (even though its one of my least favorite coasters there) and it should stay how it is.

The only problem I could see is the 3 trains. The Racer needs 4. (Most likely the RWB one will end up, somehow on SOB, as a 3rd train, or parts.)

I just would find it wrong to put any of those G-trains on the classics. Racer and Beast are just fine with their PTC trains and I think most everyone would agree. I hope they don't put G-trains on them. I guess everyone has made a point though, that there aren't enough of the same kind of train for the two coasters so who knows. This should be an interesting off-season and an interesting 2008 season to come!

Racer and Beast both look and feel fine with the PTC trains right now but you never know what might be going on under you feet while riding. You never know those trains could be getting close to being worn out and i am sure maintnence knows this and this may be why they would want to test them because they are probably thinking that its better to be safe now than to be sorry in the future.

I was just wondering aren't the G trains lighter? Racer just about doesn't make it's airtime quota sometimes, and I think if the trains were much lighter or shorter a lot of what is great about Racer would be missing.

Same goes for The Beast, but a lot of what's great about The Beast is already gone. <_<

Continuing this from other topic:

I shall never take that back. Most people know I hate the Racer, lol. I cannot stand it at all

Recar is always a blast to ride I like to ride it early in the morning when the park opens then at night just before I leave then I DART for The Beast.

Sounds like you share a similar tradition, only I'm on the forward side. Racer is currently my #1 at Kings Island, as it has the best air in the park...and I couldn't help but notice, the Halloween Haunt nights are the best!

Best air in the park...? hmmm

Ever rode Vortex last car?

I honestly think that first drop in the last car is more intense than TTD's leviathan 400 foot drop! Ya, call me crazy, but that's what I think. Although, that launch on the other hand.... ;)

The airtime on Vortex is better in car number 5. It's the car around whose ride experience Mr. Toomer himself designed the ride.

As for best air in the park, ever ride Racer in the Seventies? When it comes to airtime and smoothness, it is, sadly, now only a shadow of itself.

Hahaha, oh, you were being serious?

Racer probably has the least airtime of any coaster at KI, including Ital... Backlot Stunt Coaster and Top G... Flight Deck

At what point in the ride is there any airtime on Flight Deck?

Back lot Stunt Track only has two spots with air time coming out of the tunnel and after the over bank

Flight Deck doesn't have any airtime. Vortex yes has some airtime but only in one or two spots....the drop and the hill after that the rest of the time(of falling out of seat) it's hang time. And racer I have to agree has the most airtime in the park. a painful ride, yes but fun none-the-less.

Ok, fine so Flight Deck doesnt, but what about Vortex? That first hill and 2 corkscrews are FILLED with airtime.

Racer has airtime, dont get me wrong, its just to painful to feel it.

Air time isn't everything to some people. I can't tell you the last time I had air time on The Beast, yet it still is a great ride.

The vortex only has airtime if you sit in the back and it's only on the drop and the hill following the sensation of falling during the corkscrews is called hang time....

And I think you're just agreeing with the people who have posted above you.

Vortex has airtime anywhere you sit. Some places more than others, such as the back.

And isnt "hang time" a surfing and basketball term? Correct me if Im wrong, but Ive never heard it associated with roller coasters.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source...you can change the content of an article. it doesn't show up in dictionary or any reference site....but the news uses the term "Hang Time".

it is something possible on a coaster. Edited by calakapepe

Racer doesn't have much air that I can feel, except maybe one or two spots. But that could be because I'm fairly large, and I might just "stick" in the seat. However, I've found that there's a significant amount of air on recaR in just about any seat. Which is kinda surprising to me. Must be the way the cars run backwards...

Would it happen to matter which row of car 5? 'Cause if this is true, I'm definitely going to have to try it out this year for myself. :D
