  1. Kings Island has been hinting about Labor Day weekend and how "exciting" it is going to be for the park. Does anyone know what this could be about? Greg Scheid even mentioned it in the press release of Diamondback. I guess what is intriguing to me is how subtle they are about it and almost nonchalant. To me, this can be taken two ways: (1) it's not a really big deal (i.e. new additions to the haunt) or (2) it's going to change the Kings Island environment forever (i.e. changes to the park for 2009 that will go into effect next season). Any thoughts?
  2. I'd say props to screamscape for breaking this story, and for the most part being right on. And for KI on keeping it under wraps for so long. That must've been a hard task for them considering all the KI fanatics out there.
  3. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=745 Biggest ride they've ever built?
  4. That may not be the station, but instead the train storage area. Regardless, it sits pretty high up. The more and more the construction goes on, the more interested I become. This si going to be a heck of a ride.
  5. Just an interesting find... thought i'd share. Good luck in your endeavors.
  6. So I know that Kings Island is no longer in the movie business... but here's an interesting find. And if anyone has made their way over to KIC recently (sorry for the name drop), then you'll see the new media info about Doc Helbig's Tonic Water, used to cure tremors. Well the movie Tremors was about these snakelike creatures called graboids... check out the quote from Wikipedia. Uh... Python-like, Snake? Horseback? Concrete Aquaduct? That's a lot of coincidences. Could it be called tremors? side note, the movie was made by Universal. External Link to Wikipedia about Tremors: h
  7. As if Hendrick's construction website and Screamscape have not already provided a semi-confirmation of this, RCDB has now added it to their website for 2009 projects. http://www.rcdb.com/id4269.htm Just thought I would get everyone's mind off of KI's new 2009 coaster for a while, because I know I'm being driven crazy by the exact specs of it. So there's a distraction :D
  8. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=740 They have since taken down the logo to the right. Hmmm.
  9. To those who think it's going to be named after a snake or reptile, what throws me off is the panting at the beginning of every movie on the teaser page. Reptiles don't pant. Maybe the theme is that you're running away from a giant monster on a horse. Now i'm just combining ideas. When is August 6th?

  11. ...and rcdb.com has posted their information about the coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/id4253.htm I would expect an imminent press release... there is too much media attention to this for there not to be. I bet KI Media Relations is scrambling to draft up their release. EDIT: Also check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolliger_and_Mabillard ... now for those of you who say don't cite wikipedia... I know. I'm just posting the information.
  12. http://www.wlwt.com/entertainment/16836891/detail.html They seem to piggy-back off the Oxford-press, DaytonDailyNews Reports. They do include video.
  13. People give Screamscape a lot of crap, but I got to say they were right on target with this one. Props to them for breaking the news first and consistently bringing the most up-to-date information about the "rumor" coaster... when other sites wouldn't allow such speculations (mainly due to a fear of straining their relationship with the park). I can't wait for the construction of this ride to become more noticeable.
  14. http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_island.htm Well I wouldn't expect it near Swan Lake... that would be a disappointment and yet very funny ;)
  15. I would say this topic has run its course, what do you say we all agree to not say, "I have a secret, but I can't tell you." because a) people believe you and then continually want to know the "secret," and b ) those who know better get annoyed at reading posts like these. I highly doubt that a "23 year old" with the grammar and spelling abilities of a... say... middle-school student, has anymore of a clue of what is going on at Swan Lake than anyone else posting here. Back on topic... any new pics from this weekend?
