  1. I remember this, Mr. Roberts. Horribly sad. I heard that park is not open this year at all and the owners are in some kind of other difficulties.
  2. That sounds like a lot of fun, Mr. Roberts. No wonder you have such a variety.
  3. You definitely have an unusual collection, Mr. Roberts. I still think that song is funny.
  4. Funny, Mr. Roberts. With a disco, disco duck? Or are you too young to remember that?
  5. Guess eventually they'll have to announce it, Mr. Roberts.
  6. Well, this is interesting, Mr. Roberts. The lasers I could see laser tag? But bubbles? For children, maybe?
  7. Didn't think about that but you're right, Mr. Roberts. For some reason, Polaris reminds me instantly of the kids' movie, The Polar Express, with Tom Hanks. I watched part of that when it was on tv but it seemed quite odd; guess I'm just too old. If it's going to be a giga, Orion seems appropriately spacey.
  8. I saw something about that a week or so ago, Mr. Roberts. Don't recall where as I scan so many news sites. I like both names, but maybe Orion a bit better.
  9. If you get a chance, do check out Holiday World, though the terrain is not kind. It is such a pretty park and the drive down, once you get past Louisville, is very scenic. Again, awful heat when we were there, 114 degrees heat index. We spent two days at a hotel in a little town and took our time because those hills. It just seems well run and Santa Claus the town is fun to explore. Also the Abbey and a nunnery, not sure what it is called, but incredible architecture and so old. We had fun despite the heat. At that time drinks were free, all you wanted. That helped. Good food too. But that was about 15 years ago as I recall.
  10. I do know some folks in Cali but not well enough to stay with. Distant relatives haven't seen for decades and not likely to at this point in life. Never been much interested in going there. Prices are outrageous for everything there, I do know that. Are you able to drive distances still, Mr. Roberts? I hope you are able to go as many places as you can, but hopefully you have someone to go with. I forget if you've been to Holiday World. I know we have mentioned it but don't remember. So hilly but a nice park and so clean.
  11. Looked back at the link. Can't believe how much I've forgotten about over the years. That does seem odd, Mr. Roberts, that they included Monster. Ya never know. Used to love that thing when I was younger. First ride like that I ever rode was at a county fair decades ago, though it was somewhat smaller I think.
  12. Thanks for the correct information. Had forgotten about a lot of rides that are no longer there.
  13. Wow, that's a lot of pictures, Mr. Roberts. And all of them excellent. Not a lot of people there it seems. Last time I went on that pass night it was also cold and rainy. Quite miserable and we wore winter coats. The new antique cars are so bright and shiny. Not sure about the Skylab Cafe name. Even fake it seems not a good idea. While I like the look of pavers, they make it difficult for people with disabilities/age issues to traverse. Smooth surfaces are a lot easier for wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, or just older walkers. And are the fountains just staying full time on the low bursts? That isn't remotely appealing and seems rather odd.
  14. I know a lot of people who have missed this and will be happy to see it return.
  15. Nope, you are not mistaken, Mr. Roberts. The old ones were on a track. So much fun. Can't top the classics.
  16. So long since we were at Disney, Mr. Roberts. Can't remember the year. Loved the monorail. Still miss the one at KI. Looking at your previous post, also still miss Bavarian Curve. Used to ride at the state fair every year till dizziness stopped me.
  17. Yep, all good reasons not to have alcohol at parks. Often deadly in so many places and ways. Have always worried about being hit by puke. Bird crap is bad enough. I did read about Disney but not sure just when. To me, just another giant mistake, Mr. Roberts. Accidents/fights/illness will definitely increase. What purpose does this serve other than greed? None.
  18. I know you don't, Mr. Roberts. There are a lot of alcoholics in mine as well; that's one reason I do not drink. And I agree absolutely. I hate that they sell alcohol at parks and other venues where children are, and have seen a lot of people there over-intoxicated. It's just not a place where booze of any kind should be.
  19. Well, I don't drink, Mr. Roberts, not even green beer for St. Patrick's. I could eat cod every day, but have to have baked now, but not with that hot mayo sauce. And I absolutely detest cucumbers. Can't quite imagine eating carrot on fish. Isn't that kind of odd? Have had some good veggie burgers and smoked beef is good. Not much beef I wouldn't eat as long as it's well done. For sure don't want it still mooing or even pink. I don't go to bars so don't have much knowledge of what bar foods consist of. Back in my day it was peanuts and stale pretzels. It sounds interesting though.
  20. Brew House sounds like a craft beer place, Mr. Roberts. And I had totally forgotten about the Reds restaurant. Seems like a hundred years ago.
  21. Wow, they have made a lot of progress considering the weather we have had. Looks good.
