  1. My first night in the mountains, everything was wonderful. We stayed at a little hotel with some collectable cars on display. Then the next morning we were headed to oz and I was feeling motion sickness... I guess from riding in the back seat on those curvy and hilly roads, but we had to pull over so that I could open the door, lean out, and vomit. Then about 10 more minutes down the road, I had to lean out of the car again to vomit. It gets even better! Part two coming soon.
  2. As best as I can tell, Redbrush park closed. http://www.jacksoncountyhistory.org/items/show/531
  3. The guys who own and built the Schlitterbahn water parks are the brains behind many slides in use at various water parks to this day. I believe even certain ones at Kings Island (I'm fairly certain my fave, the giant funnel looking one, is one of their creations), are their creations. There was a reality show following them as they were attempting to build the tallest raft drop. The show ended before they ever got it to work. Allegedly they ended up opening it without ever perfecting its problems and the then Kansas State Representative, Scott Schwab's, 16 year old son got decapitated on the ride.
  4. I used to co-host a music program on W.A.I.F. radio so I collected a lot of music to play during that program. W.A.I.F. is a none profit, public radio station in Cincinnati where everyone volunteers and DJs bring their own music.
  5. Not at all. I have the Disco Duck album on CD-R.
  6. I was thinking maybe a 4-D theater, but I was under the impression that they still had at least 1 of the two theaters in the Motion Theater building (The other theater being used for Urgent Scare). But even if nothing works in there anymore (assuming the theater guts are still in there), just the shape of the the auditorium would make it ideal for refitting for a new show... unless the size of the auditorium is just not big enough for what they want to do. Plus it is so far back behind Windseeker, people might not want to walk that far for a 4-D movie. But all I can do is speculate. Tomb Raider doesn't seem like it would have enough floor space for a dark ride, sooo...
  7. So construction is going on inside the old Tomb Raider building. Whether it is going to be a ride or some kind of new show in unknown. The only hint that we have is that it is going to utilize lasers and bubbles.
  8. I think Orion goes along better with the theming in that area with Flight Of Fear.
  9. So, last week Kings Island applied for Federal Trademarks of two names, Orion and Polaris. So one of these could be the name of the new attraction that is replacing Firehawk. There is also alleged leaked blue prints that were filed to the city of mason, but it only shows footers, foundation and steel needed to frame the base of the ride. Original Kings co-founder, Dennis Speigel, has looked over the blue prints and said, "This is (going to be) a Giga Coaster." So if this turns out to be true, it will be Kings Island's answer to Millennium Force. Allegedly, the new coaster will be 355 feet tall and reach speeds up to 93 miles per hour. You can read Cincinnati's channel 9 story here. https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/kings-island-files-blueprints-for-new-coaster
  10. I have only been to... Kings Island Cedar Point Michigan Adventures Dollywood Camden Park Universal Islands of Adventure MGM Disney Hollywood Studios The Magic Kingdom... And LeSourdsville Lake/ Americana, Cypress Gardens and Fantasy Farm back in the day. I'd like to go to more while I am still able.
  11. I still love The Monster but hardly ever get to ride it because my friends don't like rides that spin. I used to love the actual Skylab as well but it doesn't seem like it was there for very long. I think someone told me that they have a "Skylab" still at Carowinds and as of right now I'm planning on visiting all the parks I can drive to this summer. I looked in to going to California to go California Great Adventure and Knottsberry Farm, but then realized it would be at least $1500.00 each just for plane tickets, hotels and car rental. I doubt I'll ever make it out to the West coast unless something drastic happens and prices drop or someone I know moves out there and lets me sleep on their floor.
  12. Oh yes, you are correct. I remember now. All the store fronts are named after former Coney rides except for Monster, which is still there. Hopefully it's name being included doesn't mean it's going to become a former ride like the others.
