  1. Considering I want it to be a giga coaster badly, I'll take it as a hint in that direction, but they could just be messing with fans to throw them in the wrong direction.
  2. Hopefully we get an announcement in August, similar to other recent Cedar Fair announcements!
  3. I believe it will be a coaster based on the footers, but my knowledge of footers isn't so great, lol.
  4. The view of the construction area from the Eiffel Tower. This is taken 5.21 (today). 5. I feel like a B&M invert is certainly plausible as well as a B&M giga, although I understand why many would say a giga is very unlikely since their previous coaster installation, Diamondback, is essentially the stepped-down version of a giga.
  6. Does anyone know what the hours of the Season Pass Processing Center hours are?
  7. It would be nice just to see this money-pit be gotten rid of. However, it would ironically require money to get rid of it.
  8. It was pretty neat, although I was a little uncomfortable with the see-through stairs made of a silver grid. It was cool being down in the back-roads underneath the breaks. There were so many cell phones, sun glasses, and change already and Diamondback's only been public for about two weeks now.
  9. Yeah, I got there around 7:00 PM and it was uncrowded. We got to ride a few rides after it stopped raining around 7:30 or 8:00.
  10. Day 1 My friends and I arrived at the park yesterday (5/1) at around 6:30-7:00 P.M. to get our Platinum Passes processed for the year. It was quite a heavy downpour so we headed for the nearest shelter, which was the processing center. Once inside, it didn't take too long to process our passes as they had many booths open with many staff so the process was a little hectic but still pretty smooth with the help from the workers. We entered the park not knowing Kings Island's policy on rain and we soon found out that they really wouldn't run anything in heavy rain, only very light rain/drizzle. We waited outside of Diamondback for a while because we hadn't ridden it yet for the year. We were pretty excited but decided to give up after a while because we didn't know if there was any hope of the rain stopping. We then headed over to The Crypt and that was a walk-on and I still remember it being pretty much the same as last year only my memory may be a little foggy. After this, we checked back on Diamondback to discover that it was still not open. This made the decision for us to head over to Flight of Fear and enjoy that. The wait was around 10-15 min. and not too bad. It was kind of lighted in the spaghetti bowl, which was somewhat unenjoyable because I like the dark's feeling because you don't know what's going to happen next (unless you memorized the layout). As soon as we exited Flight of Fear we saw Diamondback's lift and a train going up it empty in the testing phase of operations. We started sprinting back to Diamondback and got there with a little bit of a line extending outside of the entrance around a little sitting area. We waited around 5-10 min. and had a decent ride. I honestly didn't like Diamondback at first but grew to love it the next day. After this let-up of rain, we figured that the other coasters would be open so we headed for the Beast. I like the new sign for its 30th anniversary. It was fun as usual and kind of cool in the ominous, cloudy sky. We then did a variation of other rides to finish off the night including Vortex, Firehawk, and then an attempt at Diamondback again at the end of the night around 9:55. We were in the station but then it slowly started to rain a teentsy bit heavier and they just said they were shutting it down and see you tomorrow. Day 2 We woke up at around 6:30 in preparation since we had five people. We had showers, breakfast at Waffle House, and then headed to the park at around 8:20. We waited from 8:30 to 9:00 to get in. We also noticed people with VIP lanyards around their necks. Does anyone know how you obtain one of these? I know they were there for some open house as well. Anyway, we walked back to Diamondback and waited about 10 min. for the first time. After this, the line slowly decreased even with the same amount of people because of the awesome ride-ops at Diamondback and the ride's capacity and function itself. We got in about 5 rides for the morning ERT. We then did other stuff throughout the day and it was notably more busy today because it was pretty much sunny all day and with no rain. We rode the Beast, the Racer, Flight Deck, Son of Beast, Invertigo, The Crypt, and then a final attempt on Diamondback at around 5:45. This final attempt was in the very back seat on the left with my other friend sitting to my right. We had ridden in the back before and knew that it was very forceful and fun (similar to Maverick in the back). Everything was going along normal and when we hit the mid-course brakes we stopped up there. I initially thought that someone had spewed back at the station or they had some type of loading jam and they had to stall us there for some reason. Turns out that there was the classic "technical difficulties" and that they'd get it up shortly. Well, we waited for about 15 minutes for a ride-op to come up to notify us that they were working on it, yada-yada. They slowly trickled more people up the spiral staircase to the top of the brakes to tell us it would be okay. They eventually had about ten people up there. They initially told us that they were most likely going to roll us down, get us going, and send us back to the station. This turned into manually releasing us and having us walk down the staircase and back to the main path. We finally left around 7:30 and the green train was till stuck on the mid-course brakes then. Notes: Overall, I was impressed with Diamondback mainly in the very front seat or very back. I think that it is a good addition to the park and takes a few rides for it to take the full effect. Also, the ride operators of Diamondback do an excellent job with it and the ride itself runs very well. Besides being stuck on the mid-course brakes, the ride runs great. Great trip overall with many rides!

I'm heading up to Kings Island this weekend (5/1-5/2) and it's supposed to have Thunderstorms according to TWC. Let's say there is rain, does anyone know if the major roller coasters and rides run in the rain. Also, will they run in thunder, because I know they don't run in lightning.
  12. Fast Pass? I thought that was Six Flags. Is Kings Island getting this soon?
  13. Are you allowed to use your Platinum Pass for Gold Parking?
  14. According to Wikipedia, which is questionable, they have 441 acres left for development.
  15. I wonder how long it will be for the hour of early entrance on the weekends.
  16. I've recently learned of the whole debacle about E-Ticket processing at Kings Island. I have already purchased a 2009 Platinum Pass E-Ticket from Cedar Point and Tony, CP's park rep, said that you can simply show the E-Ticket at the gate to Kings Island and get in. This policy was recently changed to where you can process the E-Ticket at any Cedar Fair park, which is good. However, I'm looking at going Saturday, April 25 and want to process my pass before 9:00 so I can reap the rewards of early entrance with Diamondback and The Beast. Does anyone know if the park opens a smidgen earlier than 9:00 to allow people to process their E-Tickets/other passes at the front gate so I can avoid a huge line and hassle? Thanks for the help.
  17. Please forgive me for my highly off-topic question. Can you ride Diamondback 1 hour early all year with a 2009 Platinum Pass?
  18. I do know that the single rider's line for Maverick helps out a lot to bypass a bit of time.
