  1. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/rides/kings-mills-antique-autos Kings Mills Antique Autos Coming Spring 2019 Kings Island's most beloved attraction, the antique cars ride, is returning to the park in spring 2019. In the new Kings Mills Antique Autos family ride, guests will board replica classic touring cars and take a leisurely drive around a scenic track equipped with a small rail to keep the car on the path. The ride will be comparable to the original Les Taxis antique car ride, combining nostalgia with new enhancements. Kings Mills Antique Autos will be located in Coney Mall, across from the Juke Box Café and alongside The Racer roller coaster. The ride will be a quarter mile in length and last approximately three minutes. The cars are 2/3 scale replicas of the 1911 Ford Model T; though all-new, they will retain the vintage feel of the original Les Taxis. The ride's name, as well as theming throughout the attraction, is expected to enhance the nostalgic experience for riders.

  6. Mystic Timbers to debut in the spring of 2017 MASON, Ohio – Construction is underway on a new wooden roller coaster adventure for visitors to Kings Island. Themed to an area surrounding a lumber company becoming overrun by a mysterious medusa-like overgrowth of vines as nature reclaims its land, Mystic Timbers will be 3,265 feet in length, reach 109 feet in height and weave along steep cliffs, down ravines, cross over water and go through an extreme S-turn, among a forest of trees, at speeds up to 53 mph. The ride will feature a total of 16 airtime hills, a mid-course tunnel and interact with parts of the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions. “Mystic Timbers is naturally exciting because of its setting in a densely wooded area,” Kings Island’s vice-president and general manager Greg Scheid said. “The natural rugged terrain and tunnel ensures a unique and memorable ride experience.” Mystic Timbers is custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Three trains will accommodate 24 passengers each (four riders per car and six cars per train) with a capacity of 1,275 riders per hour. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride. The ride experience will last more than two minutes. “Everyone who enjoys the fun and thrills of riding a roller coaster will want to experience this attraction,” Scheid said. Mystic Timbers will debut in the spring of 2017 and become Kings Island’s 16th roller coaster and its fourth wooden. With the addition of Mystic Timbers, Kings Island’s wooden roller coasters will combine to measure 18,804 feet of track, which will be the most at any amusement or theme park in the world. Those who cannot wait until spring may take a virtual ride on Mystic Timbers at mystictimbers.visitkingsisland.com. 11. Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 MASON, Ohio – It has stood as a majestic symbol for 43 years; almost as if it were the caretaker of Kings Island. That description could only fit the Eiffel Tower, the massive 314-foot replica of the original Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Guarding the end of International Street at the 364-acre amusement and waterpark, the 450-ton structure has certainly been the dominating landmark at Kings Island and Warren County area, and it was planned to fit that role. The design and steel fabrication for the Eiffel Tower was done by Intamin AG of Zurich, Switzerland. The attraction was erected in just over 30 days by Southern Ohio Fabricators, Inc., after the steel arrived on park property in the spring of 1971. Installation and equipment costs for the tower exceed $1 million, making it the second-most expensive attraction at Kings Island behind the Enchanted Voyage for the park’s debut season in 1972. There are 15,000 bolts holding the structure firm. The Eiffel Tower is a one-third scale replica of the pride of Paris and one of the most photographed attractions in the amusement and theme park industry. On a clear day, park visitors can see 18 miles out into the region from the 275-foot and 265-foot high observation platforms. More than 38 million guests have ridden one of two elevators to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a birds-eye view of the park since 1972. Guests are welcome to stay for however long they would like before returning to the ground.
  12. Thursday, November 7th, 2013 KINGS ISLAND, Ohio – Kings Island has named Nathan Gushulak as its first executive chef. Gushulak is no stranger to Kings Island, having worked seasonally at the 364-acre amusement and waterpark for the past seven years. He was responsible this past season for overseeing the opening and operation of the Reds Hall of Fame Grille. His culinary background also includes a stint in the food and beverage division at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. In his role as executive chef, Gushulak will bring a more defined culinary presence to Kings Island. The Loveland, Ohio native will also assist in menu development, food analysis and culinary education. “Hiring an executive chef will yield a better dining experience for our guests,” said Gary Gochenour, vice-president of food services at Kings Island. “Chef Nathan will bring new and exciting ideas to our already popular portfolio of menu items at the park. We’re thrilled to have him join our management team.” Gushulak is looking forward to the challenge of elevating the dining experience for guests throughout the park. “I will be working hard on training our seasonal associates, working on food quality and making the food for our guests as memorable as a ride on the new Banshee roller coaster,” Gushulak said. Gushulak is a graduate of Moeller High School and Cincinnati State’s Culinary Institute. He begins his new duties immediately. Kings Island is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “FUN.” In addition to Kings Island, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, three outdoor water parks, an indoor water park, and five hotels.
