  1. Hello everyone! Since it's my second (first actual) post, I would like to introduce myself. Many of you may be aware of who I am. I am the guy who takes the aerial pictures of Kings Island. I am also an editor for WildGravity Travels. And with that, I'd like to share those with you here. I would also welcome everyone to share any pictures of the construction that they have taken as well. First will start off with the removal of Firehawk, ending with Orion being built. Hope you guys enjoy them! I may upload them slowly, since they are largish files, and I have horrible int

  6. I just remembered someone on Facebook had posted a picture of the track with one of the trains sitting on it just before they shut the cam off. But I didn't look at it very closely to see if it was true because I was on my cell phone and it was too small.

  7. The Orion webcam is now officially offline through the end of March as the ride has completed structural work and is advancing towards testing. The park has released a full time-lapse of the construction: This is the final image from the Orion webcam before being taken offline today:

  28. More excellent shots. So clear and bright with the sun. The blue of the coaster blends into the sky. I am always astounded to see what can be done with this equipment.

  29. The park once had a plan to restore old rides and put them back in operation. I wonder what ever became of that idea? I would love to see a Butter Cup, Tilt-O-Whirl and Sky Ride. I won't even dare to dream about some version of Enchanted Voyage coming back. I never see that happening.

  31. I rode one at Brown County Fair a few yeas ago, but didn't feel pressed to ride it again when I saw it at Dark County Fair, Coney Island Cincinnati or Michigan Adventures. The one at Brown County would go around clockwise, then change directions and go around backwards. The other 3 went clockwise for the entire ride, and then the next set of riders would go in reverse. It was like they broke the ride cycle into two parts.

  32. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge partially reopened on May 1st. As soon as this happened, people came flocking into town. So far only restaurants and shops have reopened, none of the attractions except for one miniature golf course. The actual National Park will start re-opening in phases on May 9th. The attractions will also start opening in phases on a "we'll see as we go" bases, but no specific dates have been announced.

  34. I think the only truly tricky part would be for it to cross over International Street. Disney's train goes up and over the entrance so it could be done if the park was willing to spend the money. Dollywood, the rail with netting comes down to stop people while the train passes and Cedar Point also has the rail. But for International Street, over head is the only way to go. They could even have steps off to the side that could go up to the train and make that a boarding platform as well. But that will never happen.

All Great Wolf Lodge locations are closing for the rest of the month: COVID-19 UPDATE: GREAT WOLF LODGE CLOSING FROM MARCH 16—APRIL 1, 2020 The health and safety of our guests and pack members is always our primary focus and it guides all decisions made at Great Wolf Lodge. In response to COVID-19 we implemented enhanced sanitation measures at our resorts and provided CDC updates stating there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through the use of pools or hot tubs. We have had no reported positive COVID-19 cases within our guest or pack community. However, with the

  38. The new antique cars has more theming than any of the roller coasters that they have gotten since the Paramount owned days. This is a much smaller layout than the antique cars that Kings Island used to have, but it's still nice to see the classic ride return. It has been 14 1/2 years, but everything old is new again as Kings Island fans welcome an antique car ride back with open arms! Since I already drove to the park today, driving an antique car has little appeal to me. Still, I would drive one if the line wasn't so long and my feet and back weren't killing me.

  41. For some reason, everyone thinks that a Giga (Millennium Force) is going to replace the defunct coaster. I don't know if that is one person's wishful thinking that other people are grasping on to like it's fact or if there is some truth to it. Firehawk has had a lot of issues lately. It has broken down a lot. But as far as I know, it is the only "flying underneath" coaster in Ohio. It is rather unique for the Midwest. Cedar Fair doesn't have one and I'm pretty sure Kentucky Kingdom doesn't either. You may just have to travel to a Six Flags to ride one. Plus, it seems like it was recently
