  1. Whew! Haven't posted over here in... forever. But now seems like as good a time as any! I'm honestly not sure what to expect. I've got a feeling it's B&M, but I have next to no idea what model. The only thing that seems relatively certain is the name, as Cedar Fair is filing the "rights" (or whatever the proper term is; I'm not great at legalese) to the name Banshee. Can't wait to see what the next teaser is!
  2. The Beach Waterpark closing after 27 years

Aw, man! Looks like I'm not going to make it to The Beach after all... :(
  3. Yay! So excited to see these changes get started. I hope it starts a lasting revival of this site.
  4. Rave Cinemas purchases Showcase Cinemas

Aw! :( I actually liked that theater, too. Many times during the hot part of the season, my family would go to KI in the morning, go to the theater when it got too hot, and then go back to KI later in the evening. I sure hope that won't happen.
  5. I vote for a grand opening, just because I like grand openings more than gradual changes. One of the bigger things that comes to mind right now is that I'd like to see a return of/an upgrade for the individual ride pages. I like what the individual pages have now, but it would be nice to see information on all the rides. Also, what if the photos for each ride were updated to show as many aspects of each ride as possible--the line, the overhead layout, etc.? It could even be done as individual videos. I'm thinking something like what kevkev44 does on YouTube for Busch Gardens Tampa. I really like the way he does his videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw7ehsTfiqI&feature=channel_video_title
  6. Thanks for another great season!

^ I love to hear things are being planned for the off-season... It's such a bummer that this site has become as dead as it has. Never too late for a reboot, though! Can't wait to see what's in store.
  7. Bert The Conqueror's Top 5 Amusement Parks

    1. Holiday World. I adore the rides, the park's policies (i.e. free drinks, parking, and sunscreen; reasonable prices for everything else; and lack of trim brakes), and the owners' concentration on making sure you're having a blast. (I can't tell you how many times I saw Will Koch walking around talking to everyone last year until his unfortunate passing.) I love the fact that you will, 9 of 10 times, be welcomed by a Koch to the park every morning. HW really does almost everything right in my book... except for the park where the park's a whole four hours away. ;) That's why the park is #1 for me. The rest have their pluses and minuses, but the only one I'll expand on is Holiday World just because I'm still waiting to have a bad experience there. The wait till May 7th is killing me! 2. Kings Dominion. 3. Kings Island. 4. Cedar Point. 5. Michigan's Adventure.
  8. WindSeeker Construction

^ As much as I sincerely loved Paramount (especially over Cedar Fair), I don't think tree removal is exactly their trademark. (If anything, Cedar Fair's trademark would more likely be trim brakes and Intamins with bad downtime.) Paramount was just as guilty, if not more, of widespread tree removal. See Italian Job: Stunt Track and Tomb Raider: The Ride...
  9. Are you going to the last weekend of Haunt?

Err... Won't the kids get tired?
  10. OBSERVATIONS: Half Way Through Haunt

^ To be fair, the fog has had a really nasty smell every year. It's definitely something I learn to cope with each Haunt visit.
  11. Police not amused with woman's trip to theme park

...Oh my. I mean, I like Holiday World and all, but...
  12. favorite time of day/weather

Note to self: playful teasing, when done online, apparently demands the use of ;) . Obviously, that should have struck me as an inside joke and not as someone just trying to get LOLs (which you actually had from me in the first place) or as some random, immature troll. Silly me.
  13. favorite time of day/weather

...Dude, what?! Originally, I would have answered with "cool fall evenings on the Beast," but now I'm thinking my answer is "whatever the opposite of loincloth weather is"...
  14. Boo Blasters Video

I gotta say that out of all the dark rides I've been on- Tomb Raider excluded, of course, and may she rest in peace- BBoBH is my favorite. Granted, I don't have exactly a lot of experience in that area, but I did get the chance to ride Gobbler Getaway at Holiday World yesterday. It was a fun and by far unique ride, but it just didn't have the same level of- dare I say it- immersive theming that BBoBH has. Boo Blasters is legitimately well-themed and down right fun ride, even if Cedar Fair didn't actually retheme it, and I sincerely hope that it stays that way for quite some time to come.
  15. Kings Island debuts Planet Snoopy Saturday

Oh wow. Oh wow. I'm dumb. Sorry for being a complete jerk there, Kibaby234. That was really uncalled for. FTW, who, foot in mouth, is now attempting to blend back into the background... (The awkward blushing doesn't help.)
