The Flight of Fear takes riders on a heart-pounding adventure throughout a one-acre enclosed structure in total darkness. The Flight of Fear is the world's first linear induction motor (LIM) launch system roller coaster that catapults riders from 0 to 54 miles per hour in just four seconds sending guests through four inversions and is considered one of the most innovative theme-based attractions ever constructed.

The Flight of Fear opened in Spring of 1996. Even before it was launched, it won two first place awards at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) 1995 trade show.
